Every year, over 24 billion pairs of shoes are produced. That’s 70 million pairs every single day. But don’t feel guilty about the pile of shoes in your wardrobe. They’re all different, you don’t want to wear wellies to your best friend’s wedding, we get it. And now there is a solution. Your once worthless old and worn out shoes and trainers can not only live on, but run open armed into their new future.

So, how do we turn old trainers into a new, innovative reusable product that lasts for years and is fully recyclable? Read on to find out more.

Capture

Used trainers are collected from leading brands and collection points around the UK and Europe.

Step 2

Sort & Process

Our partners have developed cutting edge recycling technology to process all types of footwear, from worn out shoes to unused production materials. Each shoe is meticulously broken down and separated into its component parts, such as rubber, foam, textiles and leather.

Step 3

Repurpose

These materials are then prepared for production. The materials are pure, free from nasty chemicals, and extremely versatile. They can then be repurposed into a wide range of new circular products. The outer thermal layer of the Circular Cup is made using this innovative material. The inside components, lid and any components that come into contact with the beverage are made using certified food grade materials to ensure the cup is safe to use.

Step 4

New Life

The unique outer layer is then spun welded to the inner layer, creating the base of the cup. The patented ‘push/push’ lid that we all know and love is then assembled onto the cup base and BOSH the cup is complete, ready for years of use. And yes of course, it’s also 100% recyclable, that’s the Circular way!
