We should value good choices highly because their impact will last longer than we will.<\/p>\n<p>The responsibility isn\u2019t solely yours. Everything you buy could and should be made from waste, designed to last for years and be easily recycled. But whilst we wait for the big wheels of government and industry to turn there are some immediate things, we all could be doing today.<\/p>\n<h3>It is very often the small things that make big things happen.<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/circularandco.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/DSC_7661-scaled-e1626442873862.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<h2>1. Take less so we make less and waste less. REDUCE YOUR CONSUMPTION.<\/h2>\n<p>Look after our planet\u2019s natural resources. We are taking far too many materials from nature, making them into things that we use, sometimes only once or for a very short time and then throwing them away and not thinking what happens to them after this. This is called a linear economy model:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>TAKE &gt; MAKE &gt; WASTE<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>\n<p>Avoid pointless plastic and single use items.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Ditch your disposable habits.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>\n<p>Value the materials that you have \u2013 reuse them, repair them, keep them in use for as long as possible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>\n<p>Buy less.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<h2 class=\"h-wave\" style=\"text-align: center;\">2. Stop Wasting Waste. TRULY RECYCLE.<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Whilst you wait for all products to be made from waste, start seeking out those that are.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And those that can be fully recycled at the end of their life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">One of the main reasons we find ourselves in this waste and resource crisis is a fundamental misunderstanding of what \u2018recycling\u2019 actually means. If you built them all next to each other you would need the equivalent land mass of 2.5 times the size of Australia.<br \/>And this is just one year!!<\/p>\n<p class=\"uk-text-small uk-text-uppercase\">*Sydney Opera House weighs 161 tonnes and covers 4.5 acres.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span class=\"highlight-white\">If we keep taking resources at this rate then we are going to run out. The planet cannot cope.
